FSP Book 1: A Magical Awakening: Chapter 2
[Dani and Mireille meet up as the wind picks up across the Riffing Academy campus. Somebody with a handful of flyers for an event on campus gets them blown across one of the greens, and Mireille springs into action, sprouting angelic wings that look like they’re made of snow and soft light, racing after the papers and sweeping them up with some deft flying. Mireille touches down on her feet and offers the flyers back, then waves goodbye as she flits back up to Dani]
Dani: Nice flying. Y’know, I see you doing that a little too often.
Mireille: School settings seem to beg me to do good deeds there.
Dani: Hah, I can see it. Speaking of, you ever think about the differences between here and Lady of Fatima Academy?
Mireille: I can’t avoid it, given it takes about an hour to get here from there. Being made from a large airbase is at least a similar beat to being made from a huge star fort. I suppose this is the price one pays for all this real estate for research. I can’t fathom of what – the airplanes are indeed one thing, but…this far from help?
Dani: I guess I get it – wouldn’t wanna have the magic supercomputer or whatever’s at the center of this place too close to a city. Could you imagine the mayhem it’d cause if the weird stuff that Gio and Sherry ran into happened back in Belle Woods? We’ve got enough bad guys running around with Vault lords and hired gangs trying to ransack the place for magic artifacts, the studios, even Mrs. Teasdale and her friends. Screw having Rental Emperors and Topplers and whatever else nearby.
Mireille: Indeed, indeed. Speaking of riffs, shall we?

Dani: Which one do you reckon the Magic Dimension is? Length, width, height, time…
Mireille: Umami.
