[We open on Sherry spending a moment with Belldandy. She’s showing her around the Riffing Academy grounds, walking the runway for Keiichi’s record attempt.]
Belldandy: So, this isn’t the school you actually attend?
Sherry: This? No, not normally. It’s more like a gifted and talented program, this place. There’s a lot of similarities, though: powerful magic, a focus on the arts right alongside STEM stuff…and a colorful military history. Some of the main buildings and this runway are all that remained of the Riffing Academy from back when it was an Air Force base. Our magic school’s a cool one – it used to be a huge star fort! We even have the old cannons and fire them for ceremonies!
Belldandy: I see…so that explains the runway, all the aircraft on campus, and their peculiar spirits.
Sherry: Spirits? Oh, like the bike and that Shinden!
Belldandy: That’s right. The Riffing Academy is full of pride, the kind that only people who trusted these machines with their lives could form. There’s a resilience here, and I can feel it imbued in those who attend it. That includes you.
Sherry: Gee, thanks, Miss Belldandy. …can I just call you “Belldandy?”
Belldandy: Alright.

Gio: Man. That one was a long one! But we’re almost done; there’s one last chapter to riff!
Sherry: This is exhausting! I feel like I have to go back and talk to Belldandy, just to remember what she’s like.
Gio: I hear ya, babe.
Peorth: Do what you have to. I might want to meet with her, myself…
